This course is designed to build student confidence in using their digital cameras and working in photoshop, while also learning to experiment and expand their knowledge of photographic theory and contemporary context.
The course will be delivered in 9 x 120 min lessons over the two weeks, using a practical, student-centred approach. The classes consist of group photographic sessions, photographic technique workshops, and Photoshop exercises. They will culminate in a small exhibition of the students’ work at the end of the course.
On completion of this course, students should: understand and be able to brainstorm ideas using art / photography terminology; be able to edit their photos in Photoshop; develop a photographic project from initial research to final outcome; present their work to an audience; discuss and critique their peers work.
For this course, students will be assessed on their completed projects as well as their engagement with the course through attendance, peer reviews and presentations.
