The primary aim of this course is to teach the basic principles of fashion drawing and fashion photography. Students will create a portfolio that will include flats and sketches as well as high fashion shots used for promotion purposes. Students will strengthen all of their vocabulary skills, particularly: reading comprehension, oral presentations, vocabulary, pronunciation and grammar.
The course will be delivered in 9 120 minute lessons comprised of a student-centred, task based approach.
Classes will acquaint the students with the many facets of the fashion industry and include practical sessions devised to integrate concepts of aesthetics in illustration and photography. Student participation and preparation will be key as they are expected to develop and execute their own creative concepts by the end of the course.
On completion of the course, students will be assessed on their understanding and ability to create a fashion portfolio, including sketches, flats and photos that will reflect their inspiration and creativity, as well as expand their critical understanding of fashion as a cultural and creative product.
