It has been a sizzling start to May here in the UK, and as it starts to heat up for the summer, our programme is getting hotter and hotter! This year, for both our language courses at Bradfield College, and St Anne’s College, Oxford, we are bringing you a new Creative Arts Focus Choice Programme. Ready to get artistic? Let’s find out what this summer might look like…
Similiar to our British Sports Focus Choice Programme, this year we want to bring you a diverse range of different artistic options on our Creative Arts Focus Choice Programme. We believe that Inspire is a safe, fun and exciting place to try new things and push the boundaries of what you know. So, we’re combining Art, Drama, Textiles and Photography to give you a taste of everything! Throughout the duration of an Inspire language course, you will have the opportunity to learn from specialists and have a go at these different arts. By the end of the two weeks, you will be able to present something you’ve learn at the Exhibition Night – whether it be a painting from an art lesson, something you made in textiles, or snapped in photography, or even a performance from drama.
Moreover, by learning different skills, we hope that students will be able to see how these different disciplines inform one another. For example, perhaps looking at the world through a different lens in photography will help you see life from a different person’s perspective onstage. Or, by working on a craft in textiles, you might have a better appreciation for texture and structure in art. There might be one creative area that you feel confident in, but by trying different arts, this can enrich your practice and make you grow as an artist. Or, perhaps you’ve never tried any of these different arts before – even better! You can dive right in, and see what takes your fancy. Ultimately, we want you to make the most of your time at Inspire, take home new skills, and hopefully a new found passion to develop your talent further.
See you soon! For now, stay inspired.
