Are you 16-19 years old? Ready to work hard and have some fun? Then, this summer, our new course is for you…
Inspire Education’s University Preparation Course, based at the prestigious St Anne’s College, University of Oxford, exclusively offers 16-19 year-olds an insight into UK university life. The programme is academically rigorous, and yet still maintains Inspire’s ethos of having fun whilst learning. The programme focuses on three key areas of study: UK university preparation and study skills, UK life and culture lecture series, and Logical Reasoning classes and assessment. All three areas develop students’ English language skills through comprehension, written tasks and speaking practice.
UK university preparation and study skills looks in detail into how to write a personal statement, how to excel at an interview, how to understand the UK UCAS system, and how to apply to Oxbridge. The UK life and culture lecture series explores UK education, politics, student life and leisure, with guests speakers joining us throughout the course. The final area, logical reasoning, will introduce students to aptitude tests. At the end of the two-week course, there is a final graduation ceremony for students and staff to celebrate achievements, which we warmly invite parents to attend if able to do so.
Alongside this demanding timetable, Inspire Education coordinates a wealth of day trips, to London and Cambridge, and evening entertainment, such as punting, debates and documentary-making. Moreover, the setting of St Anne’s College provides students with easy access into the centre of Oxford to explore the city’s many attractions, including the other colleges. Students have more independence, but also responsibility on this course. Thus, students quickly learn important life skills, such as effective time-management, social skills, cultural awareness and self-confidence.
Overall, we look forward to welcoming returning students and new students this summer. We hope that this course will broaden your horizons and encourage you to consider applying to one of the top universities in the world.
